A new trailer for Dead Island 2's opening scene has been released, showcasing a chaotic, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles with beautiful graphics and moody music.
The teaser sets the tone for the sequel, focusing on the grisly atmosphere; Los Angeles is shown to be drenched in blood, with a Hollywood Walk of Fame plaque covered in a crimson stain bearing the title of the game. The undead have overrun the City of Angels.
The trailer features an abandoned pool scene where blood has mixed with the water. The flamingo float still standing implies the incident occurred recently. A car drenched in blood, a grisly restaurant, and an aircraft crash just off the coast of Los Angeles are also shown.
If you've been following the series since the beginning, you may remember the first trailer for the first Dead Island. It featured a family on vacation being pursued and murdered by zombies. The trailer was played in reverse, leaving viewers to piece together a grim puzzle. This unusual style drew attention to the game and put the series on the map.
Dead Island 2 will be available on April 21 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
