Indonesian developers YummyYummyTummy and Tamatin Entertainment, the makers of ConnecTank, are back with a new game called Robo Frenzy.

Recently, they showcased their latest game at the MIX Spring 2023 Showcase, where upcoming indie games were featured.

If you’re an indie game enthusiast, you may already be familiar with YummyYummyTummy and Tamatin Entertainment's work on ConnecTank, a frantic multiplayer experience where players work together to run a massive battle tank together against other mechanical monstrosities.

ConnecTank's writing was bolstered by Patrick Baker, one of the writers behind Cartoon Network’s Regular Show, which definitely helped in delivering the game's cartoony atmosphere and characters.

ConnecTank was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, making it a worthwhile experiment for the developers.

Robo Frenzy looks to be a spiritual successor in every way, though players will not be in a giant tank anymore. Instead, they will be fighting colossal robots using weapons and machines that they make on the fly. The game’s cyberpunk-like art style is reminiscent of a 2D version of Hi-Fi Rush.

In battle, players will have to grab materials and throw them into factories to make swords, laser blasters, and boomerangs. By linking these factories together, they can create even more powerful weapons, such as a giant drill to knock out more enemies.

As players run around to defeat waves of enemies, they can use cannons, springy hands, and an arsenal of mechanical traps to take out as many robots as possible. Creative placements and ingenuity is the key to saving Omniland from rampaging robots.

If you’re interested in this brand of tower defence and resource management gameplay, you can wishlist Robo Frenzy on Steam.
